devil ray Migration

Devil Rays are crossing the Sea of Cortes from May to July.

devil ray migration

During the months of May and June, every year, tens of thousands of Devil Mobula Rays visit the shores of the Sea of Cortez on the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. In this spectacular experience, you will get to witness, in person, large congregations of these beautiful animals which form one of the most incredible natural spectacles on our planet.

The migration here is one of the largest in the world. It is an event so impressive that it has been featured on BBC’s Blue Planet and numerous National Geographic documentaries. Imagine diving into a school of thousands of these beautiful creatures as they move through the ocean and witnessing their acrobatics as they jump out of the water by the hundreds or dive over the huge schools as they glide effortlessly through the water in unison. This is the annual Mobula Ray migration from Mexico and there is nothing like it on earth.
