BirdS WATCHING Hikes

As the year progresses, the seasons change and with them, so does nature. We can watch plants bloom, birds building their nests, and a growing number of insects. Have you ever noticed the birds around us? Baja has amazing hills and landscapes with lovely rivers and lakes for you to enjoy some serious bird & plant watching. 

Migration can be understood as a strategy to take advantage of seasonal resources: when food begins to become scarce due to the arrival of winter, birds can travel to better conditions. Because of this, some birds travel thousands of kilometers to improve their chances of survival. This journey is not always easy. This is why it is very important to care for and protect the habitat of these species and observing them is a good way to learn.

We will probably see Osprey, Red Tail Hawks, CaraCara and others feeding and resting and it is important not to disturb them- we will not get too close, scare them, or leave our dogs loose because when they take flight, out of fear the birds lose vitally important energy they need  to continue their migration. It is also important not to bring vehicles into certain beaches, since there are birds and nests that are very small and very well camouflaged, in such a way that they can be destroyed without even realizing it.
