GOURMET BAJA
Designed by Hugo Dacosta and Benito Molina to celebrate their 30 years of experience in the wine and food sector in Valle de Guadalupe. GOURMET BAJA is an off-road overland journey that celebrates the local producers of high quality ingredients made in Baja California and Baja California Sur. This trip was designed as part of a documentary called “SURGENCIA” filmed in 2019 and that was recently premiered in Ensenada 2024.
The locations of the trip were selected by the winemaker and Cordon Bleu chef, as a tribute to the export producers of urchin, oysters, abalone, scallops, lobster and wine. You will stop in these production sites and eat recipes created by Benito Molina, accompanied by a selection of wines from Hugo Dacostas personal wine cellar.
Stops along the way also celebrate the most spectacular settings, the best starry nights, and why not, the knowledge of modern man’s capacity to rest properly and sleep perfectly well after the first expedition made in 1535 by Hernan Cortes. GOURMET BAJA starts in San Diego and goes all the way down to San Jose del Cabo.
